Zizhu Temple, located on the famous sacred mountain Zizhu Mountain in Dingqing County, Chamdo, Eastern Tibet, sits at an altitude of about 4,800 meters. It is one of the highest monasteries in Tibet and is also one of the oldest and most important temples of the Bon religion. It is said that the history of Zizhu Temple dates back to two or three thousand years ago. It was initiated by the second Tibetan king, Mu Chi Zampu, and established and passed down by the great master, the first Mu Bang Sa Dong, and it is now in its 43rd generation. The abbot is honored as the "Zizhu Living Buddha," and the current abbot is the Dingzhen Zupu Ose Living Buddha.
Sakyamuni Buddha once predicted: "When in the future, the statue of Amitabha Buddha, the left-turning white conch, and the wise sage gather on Zizhu Mountain, it will signify the completeness of my body, speech, and mind. The light of the Buddhist teachings on Zizhu Mountain will shine brightly and illuminate the world."
